Bishop Robert Byrne, Chaplain to the Old Oratorians

Congratulations to Bishop Robert Byrne, Chaplain to the Old Oratorians, on his Installation as 14th Bishop of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle on Monday 25th March.

The Right Reverend Robert Byrne, C.O. (Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri) was installed as the 14th Bishop of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle on Monday 25th March in the Cathedral Church of St Mary, Newcastle upon Tyne, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.

Celebrations were led by the Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Nichols, Archbishop Malcolm McMahon and 36 other archbishops and bishops. The clergy were joined by 209 priests and deacons from the diocese and other dioceses.

This was a very happy and joyous occasion. We wish Bishop Robert well as he takes up the reins in Hexham and Newcastle.
