Dora Nash Memorial

Family and friends of Dora Nash gathered in the Oratory School Chapel on 3 March 2024 for the blessing of a memorial tablet to her.

They were joined by former colleagues and Old Oratorians from several generations. The Governors had given her husband Andrew permission to put up the memorial to mark Dora’s 30-year career at the Oratory School, first as Head of Theology and later as the Head of 6th Form, School Archivist, and Alumni Officer.

Governors and the Head also attended; and, at the family’s request, the School Captains, George and Anya, did the readings. Andrew, himself  Head of English and FitzAlan Housemaster in the 1990s, welcomed everyone; and Fr Ken Macnab, who taught in the school as a layman when Dora was Head of Theology and later became School Chaplain, led the Service of Blessing.

The service was followed by a reception in the Tolkien Room.
