We were delighted to welcome back Old Oratorian Phillip (Pip) Jukes (OS 1960-1966) as our guest speaker for our latest Loquitur series.

Pip spoke of his time at the OS, being named Rugby Captain and about how his former teacher, Tony Tinkel, convinced him to go into a teaching career.

Pip went on to study at Trinity and All Saints before earning a Masters in Education from Reading University.

He taught at All Hallows Catholic Comprehensive School and was the Head of Sixth Form at All Hallows’ Catholic Comprehensive before creating his own consultancy, advising Catholic Religious Charities on their Schools, Care Homes, Hospitals, Missions, finances and properties.

Pip said: "I had the privilege of speaking to the Lower 6th about their current and future experiences. The message was not to worry if they had uncertainty about where and what they might end up doing in life. Just be enthusiastic, keep up good friendships and listen to your teachers. If this group of students is typical, then The Oratory School is blessed and a wonderful community to be a part of."
