Loss of an OO

We are saddened to hear the news of the tragic death of Old Oratorian, George Hooley (2015/Norris).

George was a much-loved member of the school community. He was Vice Captain of his house, School Prefect, Colour Sergeant in the CCF, and was captain of the school shooting team. He had gone on from school to earn selection to The Parachute Regiment, where he won P Company Champion. In each of his promotion courses, he obtained a distinction, and his Commanding Officer's Eulogy is positively glowing in its praise for George as a soldier and a person. At the time of his death, he was deployed in Ukraine.

The prayers of the Oratory Community are with George, his family and friends. We aim to celebrate his life with a memorial here at school and will let all members of the community know full details in due course.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed
rest in peace.
