LAST year’s captain Cian Tappan is set for his BUCS Super Rugby debut as Swansea University head to Cardiff tonight (6pm).

The back row fresher has shown his quality in pre-season and gets a spot on the bench for the Welsh derby at Llanrumney.

Cian, who is studying Finance & Accounting, led The Oratory to glory in the Berkshire Cup at both 15-a-side and Sevens during his final year.

He also helped club side Rams win the OBB Division One title back-to-back and unbeaten.

Rams also reached the semi-finals of the National Cup in the 2023/24 season, beaten by champions Dorking, while also falling to the eventual winners, Rosslyn Park, in the round of 16 last term.
