6th Form Loquitur Talk with Raghav Parkash (OS 2004-08)

Old Oratorian Raghav Parkash (OS 2004-08) delivered an excellent virtual talk to the Lower 6th on Tuesday 11 May as part of the Loquitur series of talks.

Old Oratorian Raghav Parkash (OS 2004-08) delivered an excellent virtual talk to the Lower 6th on Tuesday 11 May as part of the Loquitur series of talks. Raghav is a Life Coach based in London. He works with people from a range of sectors such as CEO’s, Entrepreneurs, Directors and Business Leaders, enabling them to fulfil their potential. He carries out coaching, seminars and workshops.

His bespoke interactive workshop to the Lower 6th was based around resilience and confidence. He asked the pupils to consider what resilience and confidence means to them and how they would know if they were feeling more resilient and confident.

Raghav then went on to discuss what low confidence or resilience is and where it comes from, describing it as not a reflection of who you are as an individual but a feedback system of what you are doing with your thinking in any moment.

The workshop included some key takeaways for our pupils to consider:

  • You are not your thoughts and feelings but you have thoughts and feelings.
  • Confidence and resilience are a result of accepting and being ok with however you may be feeling in the moment.
  • What you feel and think will change on its own like the weather.
  • What you feel is only a reflection of your thinking in the moment.

Thank you to Raghav for his superb, insightful workshop.
