We were thrilled to welcome Martim Valente ( OO 1993-1999) for a virtual Loquitur Talk with our Lower 6th formers on Tuesday 8th March.

Martim is a Senior Counsel for the EU Competition team at PLMJ, one of Portugal's leading full-service firms. Prior to joining PLMJ, he was a Legal Director at the UK's Competition and Markets Authority and worked at two of the world's leading competition law practices - Cleary Gottlieb in Brussels and Freshfields in London.

Martim gave an insightful talk about his time at the Oratory School, his decision to pursue a career in Law,  and the benefits of an international education ( he has degrees from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa , the European College , and the University of Chicago Law School).

We also discussed how his Law firm has set up free legal support and counsel for Ukrainian refugees seeking assistance during these trying times.

Thank you, Martim for inspiring us all.
