THERE was an excellent attendance at the Annual Requiem held at the Little Oratory, Brompton.

Recent leavers were joined by former Old Oratorians dating back to the 1950s, with the mass celebrated by Father Gerry Devlin for the first time since he became school chaplain.

The readings were said by Head Master, Matthew Fogg, and Second Master, Matthew Syddall.

Current sacristans and the Schola added to the service, with School Captain Alex Somerville singing a superb solo as part of Faure’s Libera Me.

The following members of the Oratory community were remembered having died in the past year:

Bernard Baillon (OS 1946-51)

John Carroll (OS 1962-66)

Chris Enright (OS 1956-61)

Simon Fraser (OS 1958-63)

Lionel Fynn (OS 1953-58)

Lisa Harris (OS Staff 2009-25)

Paul Keddie (OS 1967-72; Teacher 1977-98)

Richard Knowles (OS 1971-75)

Rory More O’Ferrall (OS 1960-65)

Nigel O’Neill (OS 1962-67)

Peter Sorapure (OS 1955-59)

Antony Tyler

The evening is a special event in the Oratory community calendar and following the mass there were refreshments for guests, current staff and OOs at the Rembrandt Hotel.

We are very grateful to the Little Oratory for permission to celebrate the Requiem once again this year.
